Een LED gloeilamp is uitgerust met een dag/nachtsensor. De lampvoet heeft een sensor die reageert op licht, met uitzondering van kunstlicht. Wanneer de schemering valt en het lichtniveau onder de 20 lux zakt, wordt de lamp automatisch ingeschakeld. Zodra het lampje weer gaat branden, schakelt de lamp over naar de slaapstand. Met deze functie kun je de lamp 'aan' laten zonder je zorgen te maken of je de lampen wel aan hebt laten staan. Hierdoor is deze LED lamp nog energiezuiniger en duurzamer.
