De Hensel Mi-distributeur ingangsplaat is ontworpen voor console- of kastmontage, gemaakt van staal en heeft afmetingen van 245x300x60mm. Het heeft een blind ontwerp met een poedercoating voor bescherming van het oppervlak. Deze combinatie van laagspanningsschakelaars is gebouwd voor wandmontage volgens IEC 61439-2 normen, geschikt voor buiteninstallaties en bestand tegen weersomstandigheden. De onderdelen van de kast en het deksel zijn gemaakt van slagvast, halogeenvrij en siliconenvrij polycarbonaat met een RAL 7035 kleur. Dankzij een transparant deksel met snelsluitingen kan het gereedschap worden bediend. Het brandgedrag van het product is conform DIN VDE 0471 Deel 2 (gloeidraadtest 960 °C) en de maximale waterabsorptie is 10 mg conform DIN 53473. Voor de veiligheid is hij dubbel geïsoleerd (beschermingsklasse II) en heeft hij een beschermingsniveau van IP 65 volgens IEC 60 529. Het apparaat heeft ook een beschermhoes.
