Deze pneumatische naderingsschakelaar is in wezen een drieweg normaal gesloten klep die een uitgangssignaal genereert wanneer hij een tegengesteld magnetisch veld of ijzerhoudend materiaal detecteert. Hij kan worden gebruikt om pneumatische circuits te regelen, waar het zeer moeilijk is om een eindschakelaar te ontwerpen en te installeren. In tegenstelling tot een elektrische cilinderschakelaar kan een pneumatische cilinderschakelaar de exacte positie van de zuiger bepalen zonder dat hij zich aan het uiteinde van de zuiger hoeft te bevinden. Het heeft drie 3 mm slangpilaren. De werkdruk varieert van 2 tot 6 bar.
