De behuizing van de aan de zijkant bediende gesloten schakelaars van ABB is gemaakt van stijf polycarbonaat. De behuizing is UV-beschermd en beschermd tegen waterstralen onder lage druk (IP65), en is dus geschikt voor gebruik zowel binnen als buiten. De behuizing voor 6-polige schakelaars is verkrijgbaar in verschillende kleuren, grijs en geel. De kabelingangen zijn van het type zonder schroefdraad met gaten voor 2 parallelle kabels, zowel van boven als van onderen. Membraantules en borgmoeren zijn inbegrepen (IP54). Het handvat is met een hangslot afsluitbaar en gemaakt voor één hangslot. Het deksel is vergrendeld.
