PVC-fittingen worden meestal gebruikt voor water, maar zijn ook geschikt voor vele anorganische chemicaliën, zuren, logen en zoutoplossingen. Ze zijn niet geschikt voor aromatische en gechloreerde koolwaterstoffen. Buizen zonder schroefdraad en andere mofverbindingen worden met PVC-lijm verbonden. Het wordt aanbevolen om eerst een PVC-primer aan te brengen. Breng bij schroefverbindingen op de buitendraad een afdichtmiddel aan dat geschikt is voor PVC, zoals Loctite 5331. Deze fittingen zijn vervaardigd volgens EN 1452-3.Let op: Teflontape of dichtingsproducten worden niet aanbevolen voor kunststof-op-kunststofverbindingen.Let op: Gebruik geen plastic buizen en fittingen met perslucht of gas.
